I love your site. And, of course, your paintings. :)

You are always putting yourself down, but I really admire how you put yourself out there. I really enjoy you.

Whoa! Looks like I'm late to the party. So glad to see you doing this, Brian. I've always thought you were incredibly talented and it's great to see you sharing that talent with the world.
Happy belated birthday, and I hope that all is well with you.

OMG Brian I am so proud of you!!!! This is so what you are supposed to be doing. You have finally given into the Universe!!!! You are brilliant, stunning and alive and more like "yourself" than ever! I agree with Pam the background is very helpful and just damn interesting and funny (of course). I always told you that you were an artist. I love you!

I like it; I like it all. The seascapes are particularly appealing, but the folky art is great too. I am watching.

Honestly, Petey.

You're making the rest of us look bad.

A slightly-better-than-mediocre band on infamous Drag City record label. Which I guess, makes them "indie-rock"?

Now, what the hell does that mean?

Who the hell are the Silve Jews?

March 16, 2007 | Unregistered CommenterPetey the Pirate

Jumping Jesus on a pogo stick, Brian!

You like the Silve Jews too?

Geeze. I can remember when I bought my first Silver Jews album when I was in Baltimore a long time ago.

They are on Drag City, which is in my Top 10 favourite record labels. Actually, I had $32.00 in store credits on the Drag City Mailorder, but I lost it. Which sucks, because that means they still got my money and I didn't get that really cool Palace Music t-shirt I wanted (which was on back-order).

I was re-reading your journal when I saw the Silver Jews reference. I guess it didn't register with me the first time.

Enjoy your vacay (!!!!!!!!)

I really enjoy your art on so many levels, Brian. I think your paintings are on the level of R. Crumb, Frank Kozik and others doing alternative art. I've told you that before. I am proud to have one of your paintings hanging in my house, more than any of my movie posters. Keep on keepin' on.

Seriously look into going to MICA.

Fantastic! It's very cool you've put this stuff up for all and sundry to see. I have only one complaint: I've looked at everything and my soul seems still very much alive. I was promised "art that kills the soul"! I feel cheated, somehow.

I enjoy reading about the inspiration behind your artwork. I also like the smell of your paint markers. Keep up the great work!! I'm looking forward to seeing more.

I just wanted to be the first person to sign your crack...er, I mean your guestbook (don't you remember in High School whenever yearbooks came out and somebody would always sign the inside crease with that...okay, so I was the only one who did that). I just want to say that I love that you are doing this. This is a side of you I think that most people don't know. You are an incredible artist and I hope you keep it up no matter what the cost. It makes you happy (the important thing) and you are really good (the added bonus). Maybe we can use a little Schropp Art in They Revive by Night?? I would love to see your take on suburban Pastoria (the fictional town where it takes place -- it's actually a lot like Elkridge in my mind). Would you be interested in doing the title sequence? I was going to get Saul Bass (the guy who did all of Hitchcock's greatest films) but he's dead. In any case, keep it up!
